With the available resources and supporting hands of my post graduate students we have taken many research projects however the major research that has been completed with positive results has developed the most economical material in our own country which has its dominating therapeutic role in managing various conditions successfully to preserve the natural dentition. With the support of Maharashtra council of Medical Research we analyzed the Portland cement having competency to replace most commonly used and very costly MTA in the western countries.
    • A study was carried out to see the effect of use of LASER in disinfection of the root canal. As a part of community survey I along with my Post Graduate students had organized a Dental checkup camp in Mahad village in 2006 and on examining around 880 people we found that many patients had mottling of enamel as a result of excessive intake of fluoride. On further investigation it was found that the high fluoride content in the boring waters used for drinking was a result of industrial exudate being released in the water sources. As a result of this survey the Government of Maharashtra has provided a separate piped water supply to the villagers. Effect of dental amalgam and composite on dental pulp.
